Frequently Asked Questions
We get asked lots of interesting questions. Is there a card that will get my girlfriend to let me watch the football? What’s a good prank to play on the boss from hell? If the Jeego dog and Lassie had a race, who would win?
These might not be the most exciting questions we’re asked, but they are the most frequent, so if you’ve got a burning question, hopefully you’ll find the answer here.
Um, what’s MMS?
MMS is short for Multimedia Messaging Service. It is a standard feature on most mobile networks to send pictures, video and sound straight to another mobile. It may be also be called ‘picture messaging’, ‘photo messaging’ or ‘media messaging. MMS is a feature supported and managed by your local / home network operator. Please contact your mobile network (the company you pay your bills to) for more information and to activate the service.
Can I send an ecard to an international mobile number?
Yes, for most countries. The recipient experience varies depending on agreements between your mobile network and your friends’ mobile network abroad. The message is most commonly delivered by MMS in the normal way, or the recipient will receive an SMS / text message with a web link from where they can view the message. Check with your home operator for more information about sending MMS internationally.
Please note: Sending via MMS to an international number may cost more than a regular MMS and may not be included in your MMS bundle or inclusive calling plan. Check with you local operator for more information. Sending via email, Twitter or Facebook will not incur additional costs regardless of the country your recipient lives in.
What happens if I send an ecard and the person I am sending it to doesn’t receive it?
There could be several reasons for this depending how you choose to send your message. First, if you are a prepay customer, check you have enough credit to send the message. If sending via MMS - check with your home network operator that you have the MMS service active on your account.
If sending by email, Facebook or Twitter, check the recipient address carefully.
For email, you may wish to ask your friend to check their email spam filter to ensure that it has not retained the message.
Do you have to have MMS to send and receive ecards? If so, how do I know if the person I am sending it to has MMS enabled on their mobile?
Sending by MMS is one of several ways you can send your card. MMS is available as an option on most versions of the Jeego app - if your phone model supports it. All versions provide the ability to send via email, Facebook and Twitter too.
Most major networks support MMS as a default. Speak to your friend if you are unsure.
Where’s the option to send by MMS in my Jeego app?
Not all phones allow other 3rd party applications like Jeego to send via the MMS feature. This issue affects a handful of manufacturers and we are working hard with these companies to find a solution. Email, Facebook and Twitter options will work in the normal way.
I’m trying to send a message by MMS but it’s not working - what’s that about?
MMS is a service operated by your home network operator. Please check that your phone is set up for MMS. This is especially important if you have bought an Iphone or another phone from a different retailer i.e. not your mobile operator or approved dealer.
If in any doubt, contact your network operator and ask for the MMS settings to be sent to your phone.
If your phone supports WiFi and you are currently using an active WiFi connection, some devices will not let you use MMS or your mobile data connection (GPRS, 3G, 3G+, EDGE etc) at the same time. Try switching off WiFi, and check that you have an active mobile network connection then try again. Alternatively, send by email, Twitter or Facebook.
